A few Easy Steps to an Affordable HassleFree RV Trip

Expert Article By: Graham Richards

Recreation vehicles (RVs) are "hot and getting hotter" in the current travel climate, says Arthur Frommer, one of the world?s leading authorities on travel. "Concerned about the safety of air and cruise travel, eager to remain within the borders of Southern Africa, multitudes of South Africans are turning to these elaborate lodging machines that carry the comforts of home onto the highways and campgrounds of South Africa," writes Frommer in his recent online column for MSNBC and Arthur Frommer?s Budget Travel.

According to Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), factory-to-dealer shipments of RVs increased by 20 percent last year and are expected to reach a 25-year high in 2003. As more South Africans opt for driving vacations, many are trying RVing for the first time. They?re discovering the freedom, flexibility and control that RVs offer.

With an RV, you?re free to go where you want, when you want?without the hassles of tight schedules, long lines at the airport and luggage restrictions. There are thousands of RV parks and campgrounds located along scenic routes and inter provinces, in cities and small towns?many offering resort-like amenities such as golf courses, tennis courts and lush landscapes. South Africa has one of the best camper parks in the world.

Travelers feel right at home on the road, because RVs are fully equipped with living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and baths. For added comfort, RVs also have rooms that slide out at the push of a button to create extra living space.

For those thinking about RVing for the first time, RVIA offers these 7 easy steps to get started:

1. Surf the web. If you are interested in camper hire, Helderberg Camper Hire offers the best rates on camper rental in South Africa. Their motorhome hire is also close to the airport. Motorhome Rental allows potential buyers to try RV travel and determine which type of unit best suits their needs. RV rental costs vary depending on the season and size of the unit. The motorhome is the most popular rental model. Helderberg Camper Hire also offers 4x4 Rentals in additional to class-B motorhomes.

2. Read RV buyers? guides and books. Visit a local bookstore or library. Or search for RV travel books to purchase online.

3. Visit an RV dealer. Helderberg Camper Hire would love to assist you.

4. Do the math. RV travel is affordable. A family of four traveling by RV can spend up to 70 percent less than traveling by car, plane or cruise ship. Campground fees are well below average hotel/motel room rates.

5. Take your pick of RV parks and campgrounds. It?s easy to find campgrounds with settings and amenities to suit your taste. Campground directories available at bookstores and public libraries provide nationwide listings and comparative information on fees and facilities.

6. Get going. The RV driving experience is different, not difficult. With a little practice and proper attention to differences in size, height and weight, RVs are fun and easy to drive.

7. Talk to us - We would love to assist you in any way that we can. Just give us a call or email us. Details are found on our camper hire website.

Open Question: Cheapest hotels near Santee (san diego area)?

looking to get a cheap bed to sleep during the week near santee or el cajon. i will be working in santee during the week and commuting for weekends. i am looking for hotels that are not listed in the regular hotel sites. the closer to my area the better. i guess i am looking for seedy motels and just a place to sleep from 9 pm to 7am and a quick shower. i will be going to a gym in the evenings so i will not even technically need the shower since the gym has them. hostels that i saw are all by the beach and overly expensive since i have a car. i am already trying to network on craigslist etc. for other options so you do not have to tell me about that. i guess just tell me where the seedy hotels nearest to santee are. i do not want to get robbed obviously. if i have to reject a couple prostitutes on check in would not bother me. i would not want to get in any altercations. my car has full coverage insurance so the world would not end if it were stolen but i obviously i do not want that to happen. any help much appreciated thanks. i will choose best answer i am looking for a cheap place to crash not looking for prostitutes. my question is straight up no innuendo. scumbags and religious freaks like "im so cool" need not respond. if idiots like him are all san diego has to offer i will just sleep in my car and save 20 to 30 bucks a day. since i can shower at the gym that is my backup plan as opposed to drivin to san ysidro for the 30 a night hotel they have down there. the cheapest hotels are about 50 a night in the area including motel 6. i am just looking for cheaper motels that do not advertise on expedia and usually they are seedy/lowlife/druggy/prositiute hotbeds and i might be able to arrive and make a deal with hotel management to get a bed for 8 hours during low usage times or a 30 a night room.

Resolved Question: What is the name of this film...?

I remember that the film is based on true story, about that woman who was a prostitute in Florida and become a serial killer, having a champion with her lesbian girlfriend while running away from motel to other motel then again, move to different motel to avoid arrest. She was finally arrested outside of the pub and eventually executed 12 years later. Question two: What is the name of that prostitute woman in real life??

Open Question: Would it cost as much as flying to drive a small motorhome to KS ? read:?

I have to get from Oregon to KS, Would it cost just as much in gas to get from Oregon to KS (1500 miles via road) I was figuring $5 per gallon of gas and figuring that I might get 15 miles to the gallon, I"ve never had a motorhome before, and it would be a small one, I am thinking of buying one, but when I figured out the gas, it would be like $1000, Am I correct ? It would be cheaper than paying a motel for 2 weeks while I am there, but ???????? how do you figure this ? I am trying to find the cheapest way to get to western KS from So. Oregon USA , but even a bus round trip costs almost as much as a plane ticket. I am not supposed to fly for health reasons.

Open Question: How do I make a new start in life?

I'm close with my family but sometimes it doesn't feel enough. When I dropped out of high school (a lot of mental issues... little better now) I took a job with my dad to work in the Janitorial Service cleaning 2 day care schools every night. Up until now, my dad got fired (poor attendance, now they're shutting down and that's not my dad's primary job. He has a day job) and now I don't feel like I have to be there to help my dad because he's not doing a lot of work no more; I'm glad I worked there, it taught me the true meaning of hard work and I got to help my father and keep his stress down. I'm 20 years old, unemployed and can't even get a interview at Mcdonalds or Taco Bell (no ones hiring in the small city of Salinas). Other then my family, I have nothing here for me; no friends, no social life, no lovers or a dollar with my name. I just want more in life. I was thinking of heading down south like somewhere in L.A. (near Hollywood) and make a new start. Sounds dumb but I want an experience in life and to feel independent. I'm sick and tired of living the same day-to-day routines: wake up in the morning, watch tv, apply for jobs that you know you're one of many and so on. How can you line up a job before leaving? Can a dishwasher salary pay rent at a motel? I mean it's not like I'm dumb, I do have a few talents but I think if I play my cards right and bet on a few chances, I can make a new start and do something with my life. Maybe I'm all talk right now, but sometimes it feels like I'm going to explode and lose it; do something stupid that'll ruin my life. I don't do drugs and never will. My brother did and it messed up his life. Now he lives on the street. Sometimes, I feel like that going to be me in 5 years if I don't depart ways. What should I do? I'm close with my mom and dad and it would break my heart to do anything that would upset them. I'll be 21 next month. Don't know if that's relevant or not.

Open Question: Boyfriend wants to get a cheap motel room? Lowering my standards?

My boyfriend wants to get a motel room to save money. I just don't agree with it. It makes me feel like an escort. He lives at home and so do I. Would you get a motel (not hotel) room? He's 36. He could at least put us in a decent hotel room. We do get rooms every other weekend though.

Open Question: I need help identifying a movie's name?

Ok it's a pretty old movie and saw it about 15 years ago. The movie's storyline is in a motel, there are group of people there and people get killed by unknown killer one by one. They know that the killer is among them, but don't know who it is. So there's a detective among the group, so he interrogates everyone one by one, by going to their room one by one. However, even though the detective interrrogates them, people still get killed. And by the end of the movie, it turns out that the detective was the killer, because he was the only one who was able to go in each one's room freely. Now I have no idea when the movie came out, and who was in it. But it kinda sounds like one of Agatha Christie's novel or something like that. Can anyone help me find out the name of the movie?
