Experience the Grand Canyon Without the Crowds

Absolutely The Best Way To Enjoy The Grand Canyon

Honestly, visiting the Grand Canyon can be a stressful experience if you go to the South Rim (with most people). Everyone is jockeying for position, and you sometimes feel like you really cannot enjoy the beauty and grandeur that is before your eyes. But there is a way to avoid all the crowds. There is much more to the Grand Canyon than the South Rim.

You can better enjoy this natural wonder of the world with a little careful planning and a desire to get to it in a different way. You can visit the North Rim, West Rim and the Torroweap. These places are equally mesmerizing as the South Rim and much less crowded as well. They have their own attraction that make your Grand Canyon visit worthwhile.

The North Rim features a very picturesque view of the Canyon. It is also much cooler, as it is at a higher elevation and further north. So, you won't be sweltering in the 100-dregree heat that is characteristic of the South Rim during the summer months. Additionally, a very nice evergreen forest borders the North Rim, making the various hikes very comfortable.

You can get some great accommodation option at the North Rim. From rental cabins right at the canyon edge to a variety of campsites it has it all. For a more private and comfortable lodging you can even opt for the rustic motel rooms at the large lodge of the North Rim. North Rim also features a restaurant, a bar and a gift shop. The North Rim remains closed for the visitors from October to April and at times May for the winters.

The West Rim is even less crowded that the North Rim. There is a ranch located on the edge, known as the Grand Canyon West Ranch. It offers beautiful accommodations in cabins or even in teepees. Additionally, there are natural springs nearby and it contains a launch pad for a hot air balloon ride. The beautiful vista can be thoroughly enjoued in this out of the way spot.

Torroweap is your place if you are ready to go that extra mile to savor the oddities of nature. It is a bumpy drive down the Arizona Strip District before you turn onto the poorly kept county road and have another hour-long bumpy drive to the edge of the canyon. This ride keeps most of the people away from the Torroweap. It is very close to the Utah-Arizona border. Peculiarity of the way to this destination keeps it deserted most of the times but the beauty and serenity of the place makes it worth the effort.

Owing to its untamed terrain and less visited location, Torroweap has no fences or warning signs. The destination stands welcoming with its wide expanse. The fact that it is less visited is evident from the traces of game trails and faint signs of the other visitors that occasionally come here. The region offers some breathtaking sceneries of dramatic red cliffs and vibrant blue sky. But while you enjoy the scenery take care that you don't drive off the road down the cliff.

The Grand Canyon is truly a site worth seeing, and for maximum enjoyment, it should be seen without crowds. By going to the North Rim, the West Rim, or to Torroweap, you can have truly moving experience that has nothing to do with being pushed by crowds.

Open Question: Cheapest hotels near Santee (san diego area)?

looking to get a cheap bed to sleep during the week near santee or el cajon. i will be working in santee during the week and commuting for weekends. i am looking for hotels that are not listed in the regular hotel sites. the closer to my area the better. i guess i am looking for seedy motels and just a place to sleep from 9 pm to 7am and a quick shower. i will be going to a gym in the evenings so i will not even technically need the shower since the gym has them. hostels that i saw are all by the beach and overly expensive since i have a car. i am already trying to network on craigslist etc. for other options so you do not have to tell me about that. i guess just tell me where the seedy hotels nearest to santee are. i do not want to get robbed obviously. if i have to reject a couple prostitutes on check in would not bother me. i would not want to get in any altercations. my car has full coverage insurance so the world would not end if it were stolen but i obviously i do not want that to happen. any help much appreciated thanks. i will choose best answer i am looking for a cheap place to crash not looking for prostitutes. my question is straight up no innuendo. scumbags and religious freaks like "im so cool" need not respond. if idiots like him are all san diego has to offer i will just sleep in my car and save 20 to 30 bucks a day. since i can shower at the gym that is my backup plan as opposed to drivin to san ysidro for the 30 a night hotel they have down there. the cheapest hotels are about 50 a night in the area including motel 6. i am just looking for cheaper motels that do not advertise on expedia and usually they are seedy/lowlife/druggy/prositiute hotbeds and i might be able to arrive and make a deal with hotel management to get a bed for 8 hours during low usage times or a 30 a night room.

Resolved Question: What is the name of this film...?

I remember that the film is based on true story, about that woman who was a prostitute in Florida and become a serial killer, having a champion with her lesbian girlfriend while running away from motel to other motel then again, move to different motel to avoid arrest. She was finally arrested outside of the pub and eventually executed 12 years later. Question two: What is the name of that prostitute woman in real life??

Open Question: Would it cost as much as flying to drive a small motorhome to KS ? read:?

It would be cheaper than paying a motel for 2 weeks while I am there, but ???????? how do you figure this ? I am trying to find the cheapest way to get to western KS from So. Oregon USA , but even a bus round trip costs almost as much as a plane ticket. I am not supposed to fly for health reasons.

Open Question: How do I make a new start in life?

I'm close with my family but sometimes it doesn't feel enough. When I dropped out of high school (a lot of mental issues... little better now) I took a job with my dad to work in the Janitorial Service cleaning 2 day care schools every night. Up until now, my dad got fired (poor attendance, now they're shutting down and that's not my dad's primary job. He has a day job) and now I don't feel like I have to be there to help my dad because he's not doing a lot of work no more; I'm glad I worked there, it taught me the true meaning of hard work and I got to help my father and keep his stress down. I'm 20 years old, unemployed and can't even get a interview at Mcdonalds or Taco Bell (no ones hiring in the small city of Salinas). Other then my family, I have nothing here for me; no friends, no social life, no lovers or a dollar with my name. I just want more in life. I was thinking of heading down south like somewhere in L.A. (near Hollywood) and make a new start. Sounds dumb but I want an experience in life and to feel independent. I'm sick and tired of living the same day-to-day routines: wake up in the morning, watch tv, apply for jobs that you know you're one of many and so on. How can you line up a job before leaving? Can a dishwasher salary pay rent at a motel? I mean it's not like I'm dumb, I do have a few talents but I think if I play my cards right and bet on a few chances, I can make a new start and do something with my life. Maybe I'm all talk right now, but sometimes it feels like I'm going to explode and lose it; do something stupid that'll ruin my life. I don't do drugs and never will. My brother did and it messed up his life. Now he lives on the street. Sometimes, I feel like that going to be me in 5 years if I don't depart ways. What should I do? I'm close with my mom and dad and it would break my heart to do anything that would upset them. I'll be 21 next month. Don't know if that's relevant or not.

Open Question: Boyfriend wants to get a cheap motel room? Lowering my standards?

My boyfriend wants to get a motel room to save money. I just don't agree with it. It makes me feel like an escort. He lives at home and so do I. Would you get a motel (not hotel) room? He's 36. He could at least put us in a decent hotel room. We do get rooms every other weekend though.

Open Question: I need help identifying a movie's name?

Ok it's a pretty old movie and saw it about 15 years ago. The movie's storyline is in a motel, there are group of people there and people get killed by unknown killer one by one. They know that the killer is among them, but don't know who it is. So there's a detective among the group, so he interrogates everyone one by one, by going to their room one by one. However, even though the detective interrrogates them, people still get killed. And by the end of the movie, it turns out that the detective was the killer, because he was the only one who was able to go in each one's room freely. Now I have no idea when the movie came out, and who was in it. But it kinda sounds like one of Agatha Christie's novel or something like that. Can anyone help me find out the name of the movie?
